About
Welcome! Thanks for checking out our page. My name is Dean, and my wife Pam and I recently began our FT RV lifestyle 1 1/2 weeks ago. We left Minnesota on 9/26/2023. We have a 43' Grand Design Momentum toy hauler that we're dragging behind us along the way. Have you ever pulled a water-skier up from the water from a boat? Well, it's nothing like that! This is more like trying to pull up the entire lake with the boat! Anyway, our adventures will be documented here along with some pictures and helpful information. This is the inaugural post, so if you're looking for something in particular from this website today, you won't find it! This page will be informative as well as our personal journey's stories. I am hoping to start a YouTube channel and will provide links here.
In the Beginning
Scripture says "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth." Whelp . . . I do believe that He had to move them in order to keep us safe along the way. In our vast experience of 1 1/2 weeks of travel we have learned a lot. If you're new to RVing, allow me to suggest to follow the directions when you come across a sign that says "no trucks over 40 feet." There is a reason why these signs exist, and it's not for landscaping purposes. Pam pointed out the sign as we were turning onto this road and I said, "Let's just see what happens." It was a mountain road in Pennsylvania, and I had no business being on that road with a 43' trailer and a 23' long truck! It is a 5th wheel, afterall, so the trailer hooks to the truck from the bed of the truck, so what could possibly go wrong? Well, as Pam likes to reference her Uncle's saying, these are the kinds of roads where "your back end meets your front end." Yup, it was as curvy as Raquel Welch in her heyday (link provided for those who don't know).
There is plenty more to come, but that's all for now. I hope you will follow us and share our adventures with others. Please feel free to comment, but just know that any comments that make me wanna vomit will be removed. Thanks for visiting, and may God bless you all! Happy trails.
What a great blog. Looking forward to following your adventures with Pam and that monstrosity you are pulling!! Make everyday a memory! You guys are awesome!
ReplyDeleteHa! Thanks, whoever you are? You posted "anonymous" so I can't see who wrote this. However, it is, indeed, a monstrosity! Thank for reading it, I know it was short but it was just the first one. More to follow!
DeleteHah! You paint a great picture Dean! Looking forward to more of the story.
ReplyDeleteThanks whoever you are? There is more to come for sure!
DeleteThose curly roads where you can spit in your own tailpipe can get a little dicey. You guys be safe and keep it between the ditches.
ReplyDeleteThey WERE dicey for sure! As far as keeping it between the ditches, so far so good but there are still thousands of miles to go! Pray for us along the way please. P.S. we may just make our way to you two when we leave the Panhandle in January. Be ready because ya never know what we'll bring with us (use your imagination there!).
DeleteThanks Sean! I will post more but Facebook took down the link that I provided stating it was "harmful to the community." I will post the link in the comments next time and see if that makes a difference to the communists.
