Florida!
Well we made it to Florida without any issues. Pam took the above picture one morning before she started work. I, on the other hand, need to get as much beauty sleep as possible (if you've seen my face, then you know how true that statement is!).
Since arriving in Florida we have seen our son, Justin, a few times. Him and his girlfriend Jessie stayed with us over the weekend most recently. They arrived on Sunday so, of course, we watched football all day. I think watching twelve hours of football in one sitting was Jessie's favorite! We even had a fire outside and watched football on the exterior TV and ate smores! We loved having them over, and Jessie is quickly becoming a fan of the blog. I believe she has read every one because anytime I reference something I have written she knows what I am talking about. Justin? Well, I am not sure he has even looked at this blog. He is my own flesh and blood and, seemingly, couldn't be less interested. After all, it's not cool to like something one of your parents does at his age. I guess I will have to wait for him to get older to appreciate us as parents. Thanks Jessie for reading!
While they were here, Justin and Jessie brought along Justin's cat Todd. Todd is a mild-mannered cat who loves to play with his many-toys. Our two dogs, Dylan and Dani (female) knew there was something amiss within the trailer upon Todd's arrival. They could sense that there was another entity within the house. They never did meet face-to-face with Todd. Understandably, Todd was out of his element and nervous to begin with, so introducing them would have gone poorly. We kept them separated for the entire two days that Justin and Jessie were here. One night, when Pam went to bed and took the dogs with her, we let Todd into the living room from his domain that was the garage to spend time with us in his new surroundings. Dani knew that Todd was milling about on the other side of the bedroom door. The below picture illustrates Dani's curiosity.
While they were here, Pam insisted that Justin get a haircut, so we took him to Sport Clips. When opportunity presents itself too easily like this, I simply cannot pass up embarrassing him any way I can. I teased him about mommy taking him in for a haircut. When we got there I asked him "who's a big boy?!" After getting his hair washed the barber plopped him into her chair and began cutting. I simply could not pass up an opportunity for embarrassment and took a picture of him in the chair. I asked if we could save some of the clipped hair to put in his baby book!
My search for employment continues. In all of my years of working I have never had a problem finding a job. I am still technically employed with Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge (MNTC) but not actively "working." They kept me in the system because they want me to work there when I come back in the Spring. In the meantime, I continue to search for viable employment to work remotely and I am finding it to be more of a challenge than I thought it would be. Prior to leaving Minnesota I had applied for several positions with MNTC but I was turned down for all of them because of an issue with me traveling (something to do with taxes and having to pay taxes in the state that I am in and it seems like a logistical nightmare since we are traveling from place to place so frequently). In any case, I remain unemployed, so if any of you know of remote work I would be grateful for the tip! That'll do it for now. Happy trails!
Good one! Except for..shame on you for picking on Justin lol. The picture of Dani’s nose and paws under the door is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't "picking" on him, just trying to embarrass him a little. It was hilarious to watch her try and find out what was going on in the Livingroom! Thanks for reading!
ReplyDeleteAwesome ! Always take the opportunity to embarrasse your kids.
ReplyDeleteIt's not only a "thing," but it's a way of life!
